Art

Mike Foster- Main Restaurant Area
Finding time to paint is always a challenge for Mike foster, a full time art teacher at Waukesha South High School who works to balance teaching, coaching track and time up North. It’s his natural interest in working with people that has led to his primary subject matter as an artist : the human figure.

Linda Krukar- Long Hallway and patio
This wonderful artist, and close friend to Sprizzo is back displaying with us. Linda has won numerous awards, for her work and has displayed at many galleries. She also helped design the current Sprizzo. Come see what she has displayed.

Janet Richardson-Baughman - Upstairs meeting room
Janet Richardson-Baughman earned her BFA from Central Michigan University and received an MFA in ceramics from Indiana State University in 1977. After graduation, she taught college and began her studio career. Continuing her ceramic work, she developed a series of elegant vessels, contemporary sculptures and large-scale handmade tile for walls. Janet expanded her media to include pastels, mixed media, collage and painting. Her work has been included in many exhibitions and galleries nationally.

Dara Chappie- Hallways and Patio.  "My art is driven by discovering the objects and materials that each piece of art is built around. These natural and found objects are deemed broken, discarded, or useless and I attempt to give them new life within my art. With these materials I create a new allegory that is both visual and metaphorical. Visually, my work is textually rich and sculptural. I allow the found materials to inhabit the panels, grow through them, and coalesce with the paint and textures. The work creates tension by its resistance to actually move off the wall into a fully sculptural state. On another level, my work is a metaphor for recreating oneself, new beginnings and hope. There is always a new existence, season or essence that is possible. I present an allegory of this new existence that discusses the movement, relationships and tensions that have developed between the natural and man-made materials. My work is influenced in part by the Synthetic Cubism movement, Earthworks art, and Picasso’s Assemblage works."

Testimonials

"I played here Friday after Thanksgiving. Buffalo Chips hosted. Very good country-rock-folk duo. 12 performance slots filled very rapidly. Wide variety of styles and skills. When I played, the room was packed and everybody paid attention, looked, listened, and applauded. Some performers did not get the same response. I loved the place. Four or five folks came up and talked afterward. A note: remember the same Macyn Taylor. She's about ten and she'll be a country star some day. I gather she's a regular. Worth the trip. Very much a family atmosphere with four or five family units (parents and kids) in attendance. I'll be back."
